Betty

Betty is our dog.  She came to our family two years ago.  She is a German Shepherd mixed with something, we think a Border Collie.  She loves kids and other dogs. She has great motherly instincts.  We have watched her interact with puppies and she is such a natural.  She will let them play, bite, nibble, jump, lick, slobber all over her.  When they go to far or she is done, she will gently put her paw on top of them and pin them down.  She is scared of fireworks and the hose.  She will bark at people or dogs that walk out front of our house.  She loves to sleep in the window well, not a dog house.  We have tried to get her a dog house but she refuses to go in.  This winter we built her a house of straw by barricading the overhang from our master closet.  It kept her warm and protected from the elements but was a HUGE mess come spring.  We won't do that again!  She likes to ride in the car and is a great traveler.  She stays outside all day, unless there are fireworks going on.  She sleeps in the hall by all the bedroom doors at night.  She is very submissive and wants to please you.  We love having her as a part of our family and maybe we will get her a puppy one day to satisfy her motherly wants!
