Tenley...Dentist at the Hospital?

So Tenley needed to have two teeth pulled and a couple of cavities filled and after her last experience at getting a cavity filled in the office we opted for the much more calm choice of doing it while she "sleeps". She didn't have a good experience last time and she was just warming up to getting her teeth x-rayed and cleaned and we didn't want to take ten steps backwards. So off we went at 8AM this morning to the hospital. We had to wait for two hours before they took her back. She was very fidgety and quite nervous...the fear of the unknown. Now I know she was terrified of having to get a shot! So after the nurse explained that she'd wear a mask and breathe funny gas that would make her sleep BEFORE they gave her a shot she relaxed. She did great, I was really hoping for a funny coming out of anesthesia story but she was just dead silent and staring of into space. At least she wasn't screaming bloody murder like the two kids before her! She didn't puke or anything so it was very uneventful. As they wheeled her away from me I have to admit I was slightly emotional. I knew it would be silly to cry over dental work but my baby was going down a hall without me

and I no longer had any control. The nurse gave her a cute teddy bear and she held on to that thing for dear life so that really saved her. She was very brave. I did pretty good too,I got slightly light headed as they were taking her IV out :) I just sat down quickly so I didn't end up a patient too. Well, not a huge event but it was a different kind of day for us. We are glad the doctors are smart and the nurses were kind and her Daddy and our neighbor, Brother Steve Miller(band) ;) could give her a blessing last night. Tenley said it made her tummy not feel so nervous.
